So, what can I say about how to survive another wine tasting event? Not much more than I have always said. It's really quite easy, you know. Just eat well, hydrate-hydrate-hydrate and remember to apply everything you learned in kindergarten and you will do just fine:
- Share everything.
- Play fair.
- Don't hit people.
- Put things back where you found them.
- Clean up your own mess.
- Don't take things that aren't yours.
- Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
- Wash your hands before you eat.
- Flush.
- Cheese and wine are good for you.
- Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
- Take a nap every afternoon.
- When you go out in the Walla Walla Valley, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
For a list of participating wineries, times, and events check out Walla Walla Wine Alliance. Cheers!

Catie,
So sad to not be attending this year's Barrel Tasting (decided to visit Woodinville's St. Nick's this year instead). A few additional recommendations for folks:
1. If you are talking to the winemaker/person pouring the wine, it is okay to camp out at the tasting table for a brief period.
2. If you are not talking to the winemaker (or anybody else for that matter), it is not okay to camp out at the tasting table. Keep in mind that the closet wine taster may be behind you.
Have a great weekend in W2 everyone. Will look forward to hearing about it Catie!
Sean
Hey Sean!
Thanks for dropping by. We will miss your excellent reports on the Walla Walla Valley, but we gotta let Woodinville have you once in awhile. And thanks for the great tip!
Cheers,
C~
Great tips, Catie, for any wine event.
But I want to know, do they really starting serving wine in kindergarten in Walla Walla?
Oh sure Chris. We have to start educating their palate while they're still young. And who knows, there may be a talented winemaker-to-be in the class? Kidding! The quote actually says "cookies and milk are good for you." But of course, wine and cheese is much healther. Thanks for checking in.
Cheers,
C~
Such wonderful guidance for tasting room visitors! My favorite kindergarten advice "Keep your hands, feet and mean words to yourself" is also apropos in a tasting room. Thanks for stopping by at Holiday Barrel Catie. Always wonderful to see you.
